Introduction

The Supplement Facts section is set up based on the way items are identified. The Code of Federal regulations refers to typical nutrients such as total calories, total fat, etc. as (b)(2)-dietary ingredients (21 CFR § 101.36). TechWizard Online uses this same terminology in the Supplement Facts section. The (b)(2)-dietary ingredients are listed first in the spreadsheet. Other Dietary Ingredients are listed at the bottom portion of the spreadsheet.

The Supplement Facts section is made up of four separate spreadsheets:

  • Supplement Facts Formula Development
  • Composition
  • (b)(2) Dietary Ingredient Sheet
  • Supplement Facts viewer

Supplement Facts Formula Development Layout

This is where the bulk of the work is done. The green buttons at the top provide access to all the menus. The layout of the spreadsheet matches the order that items are displayed on a Supplement Facts panel.

The top portion of the spreadsheet lists the (b)(2) dietary ingredients. The (b)(2) Options button provides access to a feature used to select the items to be included here. Other Dietary Ingredients are listed in the lower portion of the spreadsheet. This includes ingredients that would make up the recipe and other properties. The Add Ingredient and Add Property buttons (B) add items to this portion of the spreadsheet. The Scroll to button (C) provides an easy way to scroll back and forth.
