When an ingredient is added from the USDA ingredient list, it is added to the current ingredient file and to the formula. You need only select a particular ingredient from the USDA list once. To add an ingredient more than once to a formula, select Disable Add Once Only (D).
An ingredient not in the ingredient database can be added to this formula by pressing the Add Ingredient Not in Database button (E). The ingredient composition will have to be provided. If the wrong ingredient is selected and added to the formula, select the ingredient in the Current formula list and click the Delete Selected button (F) to remove it. When finished adding ingredients, close the form.
The user can search for a particular ingredient name or reference number using the search feature (G). Ingredients can be selected from the source ingredient file or from the larger list of USDA ingredients. The ingredient file can be changed by pressing the Look In: button (H). The list of ingredients can be sorted by ingredient name (I), by reference number (J), or by source (K) by pressing the appropriate button. The user can also press the Show Complete Name button (L) or the View button (B) to view ingredient names that are too long to view in the list box. To copy a list of ingredients from the ingredient file, click the Copy List button (M). The list can then be pasted into another program such as Notepad, Excel, Word, etc. The ingredients in the current formula can be sorted by clicking the Sort button (N). The Sort Ingredients window appears. Follow the instructions found in the Sort window. To enter recipe amounts for the formula, click the Edit Recipe button (O).
