Introduction

The Cell Edit menu has functions beyond just modifying cells that allow the user to manipulate values in cells, change the size of the view, and search for text. The Cell Edit menu items are shown in this figure. Click the Cell Edit button to access the menus.

Undo, Copy Selection, and Paste Selection

Clicking Undo resets the last cell edit to the previous value. If Undo is clicked a second time, the typed value is returned.

Clicking Copy Selection  places a marquee around the selected cells and copies the information.

Clicking Paste Selection pastes (copied values) in the selected cell(s). Generally, you can only paste to cells with a blue background in TechWizard™.

Copy Text

Clicking Copy Text copies selected cells without copying the background color, buttons, or formatting. It is very useful when you wish to copy text and numbers only to another application. This allows the user to select an area like a recipe and paste it into a document without the images of program buttons and the background being copied as well.

Paste Values

Paste Values is used to get information from outside TechWizard™. Information from columns or rows is copied outside of TechWizard™. Select the destination for the copied information (cells with a blue background) and click Paste Values.

Click the Cell Edit button and select Reset Column Width to reset the selected column width back to its default width. This feature is available in the Formula Dev and Batching section, the Declaration section, the Labeling section and the Ingredient File Editor.

Increase & Decrease Decimal Point

Selecting a cell, click the Cell Edit button and select Increase Decimal Point to increase the number of decimal places displayed. Selecting Decrease Decimal Point reduces the number of decimal places displayed. This feature is available in the Formula Dev and Batching section, Supplement Facts section,  Declaration section, and the Ingredient File Editor.

Effect of Decimal Place on Formulation Diagnostics

Changing the number of decimal places for ingredient or property minimums and maximums has a special significance. It influences the diagnostics used to determine whether a formula meets all constraints. For example, if the total fat content is 9.980 % and the desired minimum is 10.000 then the formula will display “low” for total fat and not meet all constraints. However, the diagnostic will display “set” if the decimal place is reduced to one. This means that 9.98 is displayed as 10.0, which now matches the desired minimum (10.0).

Wrap & Unwrap Text

Clicking on Wrap Text wraps the text and increases the cell height to display more information in the cell. Clicking Unwrap Text has the opposite effect.

Change Screen Zoom

Clicking on Zoom, opens the Zoom window which allows the magnification to be changed. The magnification can be selected (A) or a custom amount can be entered (B). Another option is to select cells (C) before opening the Zoom window. Open the Zoom window and click the Fit Selection option (D). This will reset the magnification to display the selected cells. Click the OK button to retain the magnification or Cancel to revert to the original magnification.

Find

Clicking on Find opens the Excel® Find feature.
